After a very thorough and detailed tendering process, FPS Distribution have chosen a Platinum WAN to replace their existing infrastructure, which has been in place for a number of years.
FPS has been in distribution for over 75 years. They employ over 900 people and operate across the UK through a network of 20 regional sites which includes a National Distribution Centre based in Sheffield. FPS began life distributing parts to the automotive aftermarket. Today automotive parts remain a strong part of their overall offering, however the portfolio has expanded and now carries over 100,000 product lines covering the Travel and Leisure, Marine, Industrial and Retail sectors.
FPS have opted for a mixture of Fibre & EFM circuits to link Head Office, Distribution Centre, Data Hosting Centre & Branch Outlets. In choosing a new WAN, FPS were looking for a solution not only for today, but also for the future. With new systems coming online and future projects in the pipeline, the ability to scale up the network quickly and efficiently was paramount as was the reliability and resilience of the solution. Platinum have been able to design a solution that meets all the requirements and at a very competitive price. The rollout of the network is planned to be completed by mid-April.
