Danwood WAN gets even bigger

Having already deployed a new MPLS WAN for Managed Print Solutions company Danwood plc during late 2011/early 2012, 2 new sites have recently been added to the network to take the number of sites to 35.  The new locations in Exeter and Maidstone complement the already extensive geographical reach of the company throughout the UK & Ireland.

Opting for a mixture of fibre based LES and copper based EFM circuits, Danwood deliver a range of IT & Telephony services to their end users across bandwidth rich circuits that are extremely robust & secure.  As all the services Danwood deliver to end-users are located in Lincoln it was essential to provide resilience to the WAN to ensure high availability of applications and data.  To this extent we deployed a high bandwidth LES circuit into each of their 2 office locations in Lincoln, which are then joined by a point-to-point link.  In the event of a circuit failure, both inbound & outbound traffic is automatically routed  through the remaining working link.  Whilst this has been tested for DR purposes, it has never been used in a live situation as both circuits have been ultra reliable.
