Jemca goes virtual

Jemca Car Group, a London based Toyota & Lexus dealer group, have had a virtual infrastructure solution installed by Platinum, comprising of 3 physical servers and an IBM fibre channel SAN.  The virtual platform has been built using ESXi & vSphere products from industry leading vendor VMware, of which Platinum are a Professional Partner.  Jemca currently have around 18 virtual servers running in the environment, delivering services & applications such as Domain Controllers, File & Print, Microsoft Exchange/Blackberry email, Microsoft SQL databases and Cognos Business Intelligence.  Backup & Disaster recovery is managed using Veeam Backup & Replication, the No.1 product for backing up virtual environments.

Jemca is a growing dealer group, currently with 11 locations in and around the London area.  To access the applications and data on the new virtual infrastructure, Jemca make use of a group-wide MPLS WAN installed by Platinum.  Utilising both fibre based LES and copper based EFM technology, the circuits provide fast, reliable, synchronous bandwith to ensure end-users can access systems quickly and reliably. Jemca have also invested in 2 Watchguard XTM Firewalls, providing secure and managed centralised internet access for dealerships north and south of the River Thames.
